Hof van Jacob

Like many other neighbourhoods and towns in the Netherlands, Schalkwijk (Haarlem) is facing an ageing population and a decline in young residents. As people grow older, their living needs change, and their dependence on facilities increases. It’s therefore only logical that the newly developed residential complex Hof van Jacob – aimed at elderly people with intensive care needs – has chosen a waste sorting system from Stansz. A solution that prioritises ease of use, safety, and sustainability for both residents and care providers.

In close collaboration with HevoFame, Stansz has implemented a waste and linen chute system for two buildings in the new Hof van Jacob complex in Haarlem. Each building is equipped with a fully automated sorting installation that processes waste from four floors into an equal number of containers on the ground floor. A smart touchscreen on each level allows users to easily select the type of waste being disposed of. The facility management team has full insight into the status and fill level of the containers through a connected system.

Since the waste rooms are located on the exterior side of the buildings, the containers can be emptied with ease. The system is made of stainless steel and features fire-resistant intake doors (EI60) to ensure maximum safety and durability.
