Efficient facility management in modern buildings is no longer just about hands-on work. Data is playing an increasingly important role in how we use, manage, and optimize buildings. For example, real-time insight into how full a waste container is—without having to go down to the basement. By using technology smartly, building management becomes not only more efficient, but also more convenient and transparent. For facility staff, this means fewer surprises, better planning, and faster action.
Cordaan chooses chute systems
During the renovation of care center d’Oude Raai, healthcare organization Cordaan deliberately opted for an improved logistical flow within the building. In collaboration with Dura Vermeer, two stainless steel chute systems from Stansz were installed: one for waste and one for laundry. The chutes span seven floors (including the basement) with a total height of 18 meters and are each equipped with six stainless steel intake doors.
What makes the system unique is the smart monitoring of container fill levels in the basement. A sensor system displays the status at each door, showing whether a container is full. This gives facility staff direct insight, so they no longer have to check manually and always know when action is required.
The chutes are made of durable, hygienic stainless steel 304 with an internal diameter of 600 mm. The sanitary finish and robust construction ensure a safe, reliable, and future-proof solution for vertical logistics in buildings.
