Hotel The Ald Den Haag

Hotel The Ald chooses smart linen logistics by Stansz

When designing or managing a hotel, the focus is usually on experience, comfort, and efficiency. But behind the scenes lies a world of logistics—often only noticed when things go wrong. Take linen handling, for example. In many hotels, linen is still manually transported through narrow corridors, elevators, and doorways using wire carts. The result? Recurring annual damage to walls, floors, and door frames.

These are costs you’d rather avoid. A well-designed linen chute system offers a smart solution: safe, hygienic, and without placing unnecessary strain on staff or the building. A chute system brings order to your internal logistics and prevents invisible costs that would otherwise keep returning each year.

On behalf of construction firm Bouwbureau Bakels en Ouwerkerk B.V. (BOBGroep), a linen chute was installed during the transformation of the former General Printing Office into Hotel The Ald. This new hotel concept by LBG Hotels has been open to guests since early 2025. The hotel features 91 rooms, including luxury wellness bathrooms and mezzanines.
From four floors, laundry can now be transported directly to the laundry room on the ground floor. The integrated control system ensures that only one access door can be opened at a time and that the system can be locked during container changes.
